| The Anna Lindh Foundation organizes a series of different programmes and also acts as a coordinator to other civil society organizations aiming at the promotion of Intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The Foundation acting as a network of civil society organizations supports its members and also provides the opportunity to its members to establish links and cooperation among them in national as well as in international level in several sectors.
The Anna Lindh Foundation fulfills its mission:
Though its Call for Proposals programme, an open competition to select and provide financial support in an annual basis the best proposed intercultural projects. The candidates with the right to submit an application form should definitely be members of Anna Lindh National Networks. (Anna Lindh grants give co-funding opportunities with other organization). Most specifically the Foundation supported the following projects: In the field of education the Anna Lind Foundation established a teacher training programme in collaboration with ALESCO. The main aim of the programme has been to provide teachers across the Euro-Mediterranean region with the pedagogical skills and materials aiming at the establishment of regional collaboration and youth exchange programmes in order to provide them with education for human rights. (May 2007) The Journalism training programme according to the Barcelona process under the title: “We build bridges to link the two shores of Mediterranean”. The perspective of the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership in a fast ongoing world system is the main thematic of this seminar been held in collaboration with the German School of Journalism, the In Went etc. This conference provided the opportunity to young journalists to share and exchange their ideas regarding the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership and mainly in the subject areas such as migration, cultural dialogue and democratic citizenship. (November 2006) In the field of education a teacher training programme with the main aim to provide teachers with the pedagogical skills and materials on cultural and religious diversity under the title: “Dealing with religious diversity within classrooms”. The seminar has been held in coordination with the Council of Europe, the Swedish Institute etc. (November 2006). The Anna Lindh Foundation organizes a series of programmes and activities, such as:
The promotion of knowledge regarding human rights and cultural multiformity as well as the role of civil society in the promotion of democratic citizenship and cultural diversity. (Strasburg, France 4-8 August 2006) The Youth Conference for the conflict aiming at the promotion of knowledge regarding issues of cultural diversity, freedom of speech as well as the mild means of conflict management among different cultures and educational systems in the Euro-Mediterranean region. Supports and coordinates programmes in collaboration with other organizations such as: The Biennale of young artists from Europe and the Mediterranean region: “Our creative multiformity…Weather” in collaboration with Bibalex, Alex-Med. One thousand artists from Europe and the Mediterranean region met in Alexandria for the Biennale revealing their talents in seven fields. (July 2007). The First Euro-Mediterranean Youth Parliament in collaboration with the European Presidency of Germany, the Goethe Institute etc. The International Conference for the Dialogue between Cultures and Religions in collaboration with the German Institute Forum aiming at an open discussion concerning the Foundation’s main strategy in its attempt to establish anew the Cultural Dialogue emphasizing over diversity. The Anna Lindh Foundation surveys the Euro-Mediterranean policies and cultural orientations which results in the form of an annual report concerning the development of social and cultural tendencies in a personal as well as in a collective level.
The Anna Lindh Foundation has been established two awards:
the Euro-Mediterranean Award for the Dialogue between cultures which rewards distinguished organizations as well as individuals whom their activities contributed at promoting intercultural dialogue with alternate topic each year. The Euro-Med Journalist Prize for cultural dialogue which rewards exceptional journalistic productions.
